A couple of live reviews from the Maybeshewill tour this month.
Paint It Blue
We were asked to be part of a special show happening in Melbourne on the 11th of Oct. This is a tribute show associated with beyondblue and coincides with Mental Health Week. As you all know, this is a cause we feel strongly about and we were more than stoked to be asked to headline this 7 band bill, especially in Melbourne and with such an awesome lineup. This will be a huge night.

Pelican show review
Here's a review of the Pelican show the other week. Nice one. Thanks.
Words by Rahul Menon
The very awesome Pelican made their return to Australian shores, and it promised to be an amazing sonic experience. The night was, simply put, amazing! The vibe at the Manning Bar was excellent, the support bands brought out their best performances, and Pelican, as expected, were sounding absolutely huge!
Starting off the night was Sydney's very own We Lost the Sea. I had the opportunity to see these guys before when they were supporting Caspian earlier this year, and this time they were even better. They got my complete attention within moments of them starting to play, and their performance was one incredible progressive post rock journey. Starting off the set with slow, brooding, and haunting tunes, they slowly and steadily picked up the tempo and the heaviness and around the middle of their set they washed over the Manning Bar with an incredible sound. They were trippy, emitting great moving energy, and they successfully transported the fully immersed concert goers to a whole new world of blissfulness. The ambiance and atmosphere they created was just so good, and they should be well and truly proud of their performance.

Nicefest
We're playing Art As Catharsis' NICEFEST with a bunch of nice people in August. It's a really eclectic and interesting mix of styles of music over a whole day. It's going to be huge. Really awesome something like this is happening in Sydney, don't miss out.

Tribute show poster and Crimea download
One more thing while we're announcing things this week: There were some posters left over from the tribute show on the weekend, so we've decided to put them up for sale by a pay-what-you-want donation (starting at $5) and you also get a download of the remastered Crimea album. All money goes to beyondblue.
We'll be announcing final donation totals when we have them, next week. Thanks for all your support, it means a lot. Peace.

A Collection of songs & a dedication to Chris Torpy
As well as the show next week we have also put together a compilation with the help of Lachlan R. Dale of Art As Catharsis. The release includes tracks from Chris' bands, tracks that he contributed on and tracks from bands that wanted to pay tribute to him.
We can not adequately express our gratitude to all the people that have taken part in this compilation and the in the show next weekend. Chris was passionate about music and having a compilation of other passionate musicians is the perfect way to pay tribute to someone we love and miss dearly.
All proceeds from this compilation will be donated tobeyondblue.
Thank you all for your support. It means more to us then we could ever thank you for.

Crimea Re-Release now on Spotify
The Crimea re-release is now officially on Spotify! It's been listed as a single rather than an album, we're looking into trying to fix that, but either way, it's on there!
A night with friends and a tribute to Chris Torpy
On the 26th of April, We Lost The Sea are hosting a special show with a bunch of friends, bands and fans to come together to pay tribute to a superb person, Chris Torpy, who sadly took his life in March 2012. It is a night for coming together as a community and a local music scene to remember and share some laughs and memories of the person he was and what he was passionate about.
It is a night for coming together as a community and a local music scene to remember and share some laughs and memories of the person he was and what he was passionate about.
The show will also be a fundraiser for the charity beyondblue who provide support for people who suffer any form of depression and anxiety, empowering all Australians, at any life-stage, to seek help. beyondblue raises awareness, reduces stigma and ensures people have access to the information they need to support recovery, management and resilience.
Not a day goes by that we all don't think about him. To pay tribute to Chris we could think of no better way than to get together a bunch of bands full of people that he loved and who loved him.
All proceeds from the show will be donated to beyondblue.
