The idea for flowers came first. I needed a way to expand that and create a thread between the pieces so I landed on using birds to help tell the story.
The connecting elements. I also felt the symbolism of a falling birds is strong and obvious.

The theme of loss and despair at the Palestinian genocide was running strong from the start of the process.
