HEY EUROPE! GUESS WHAT!?

If having just finished the best tour of our lives isn’t enough, we can announce that we are finally heading to Europe (and hopefully the UK) for our first overseas tour ever in 2017!!! After a pretty terrible weekend of silly politics we hope this cheers a few of you up. Some of the guys haven’t even left the country, let alone toured overseas with a band. We can’t reveal too much except we are working on filling in some dates on our touring schedule and we need your help.

If any promoters, labels and/or venue managers could get in touch to help us book shows and help fill in those dates, that would be much appreciated. Please contact the band at welostthesea at gmail.com or Mike at Bird’s Robe, birdsrobe at gmail.com.

More info to come.

Ps. HOLY SHIT WE ARE COMING TO EUROPE

THANK YOU

Well... what a way to end a tour. When we started booking this tour we never imagined we'd end up here. Kind of speechless really. Massive thank you to all of our friends, family and fans for supporting us for the last however many years until now, a sold out Oxford Art Factory. This tour has exceed all expectations, we're all blown away by it.

Special thanks to Tav for continuously putting up with us and making us sound good. Have/Hold for being a great band and lovely, genuine gentleman (and getting pummeled when doing our merch in Sydney). Tim for his electric cello. Liz and the VOX choir for their voices. Dan for making the drums sound pro. All the bands that played with us and venues that hosted us. Louis CK, Steve Hughes, Jim Jefferies and Ricky Gervais for keeping us company in the van. And also Balranald.

Now we sleep. See you again soon.
Much love,
WLTS

A CHOIR WILL BE JOINING US AT OAF, YES, A CHOIR

We have something to tell you we’ve been working really hard on for months and have been trying to keep secret for a while. It has been making us excited and also extremely anxious but we are genuinely stoked to announce that we will be joined by members of the VOX, Sydney Philharmonia Choir at The Oxford Art Factory show in June. YES A CHOIR.

This will be an amazingly special show for us (hard to believe it’s actually happening) and probably won’t happen again for a long time. You do not want to miss this!

DEPARTURE SONGS VINYL HAS ALMOST SOLD OUT

Our tour starts next Friday, so a bit of an update on vinyls is in order as we've had a bunch of you asking about them.

We have less than 130 Departure Songs vinyls left in Australia! They are also almost sold out in the States and Europe. We've taken them offline to save the rest. You will only be able to buy vinyl on this tour! Specifically the limited bone coloured vinyls.

They will most likely sell out on this tour! Help us do that so we can pay for a repress.

Thanks to all the legends who've bought one so far, that's 750 vinyls in total which is a huge a achievement for a band like us.

Tour starts in just over 2 weeks! We've got a bunch of new merch coming. Part of it will be a very limited run of high quality A2 tour posters. Available at the upcoming shows until sold out.

VINYL UPDATE & HAPPY HOLIDAYS

VINYL UPDATE:
Hello!
We come to you with not the best news right before the end of the year... We've been told by the pressing plant that due to mistakes that were completely out of our control our vinyls will not reach us until January. More delays!!

We can't apologise enough and we'll get these out to you as soon as we can. The fact they are not in our hands already is slowly killing us.

AMERICA:
You can pre-order the vinyl from Translation Loss Records - they are the same stock as ours so they don't have any at the moment either but will do in January.

EUROPE:
We are working on distribution and will let you know when we confirm all the details.

Once again, thank you for all your support and patience. We'll be going quiet for a few weeks, all merch orders will go out after the 10th of Jan. Have a safe holiday.

Peace, love and beers from
WLTS

'Departure Songs' - out now on Bird's Robe Records, Art As Catharsis Records and Translation Loss Records.

"This is a special, unique release... and I thank them for it. If you ever have a discussion with someone and want to prove the power of music - reach for this" - Nick Dodd | Echoes and Dust

MONO IN SYDNEY AND MELBOURNE

Our next shows will be with Japanese post-orchestra epics Mono (Japan) in Sydney and Melbourne! Really honored to be asked to share the stage with such an amazing band, it will be special. Thanks to LIFE IS NOISE and Mono for having us. Our prog mates Serious Beak will be joining us in Sydney and our sea mates Fourteen Nights At Sea will be at both. These will most likely be our last shows of the year and into next year, what a great way to finish 2015. See you at the Corner Hotel and/or Newtown Social Club!

NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE THROUGH TRANSLATION LOSS

We are pretty excited to announce that we've signed with Translation Loss Records for a North American release of Departure Songs!! In the past they've worked with artists like Rosetta, City of Ships, Year of no light, Intronaut and Mouth of the Architect, and we're stoked to be joining that list. This means the vinyl and CDs will be available locally in the US around December. We also have an exclusive new limited vinyl colour that is available on the TL store and on tour only.

You can pre-order the record on CD and 2xLP here:

LAUNCH DAY!

HAPPY RELEASE DAY! DEPARTURE SONGS IS OUT!
https://welostthesea.bandcamp.com

We are excited, nervous and proud of this release and are happy to finally get it out there. Thank you so much to everyone who has pre-ordered, you are our heroes. As you probably know by now, we put our all into this and glad to see it's being received well already.

Anyway, Nick from Echoes And Dust has described it better than we can in a beautiful and heavy review that has hit close to home for all of us. If you want to know what this album is about, read this.

CDs will be available from next week. Vinyls will be available from late September/early October at this stage. Thank you so much for your patience and support.

See you next week on tour!
Cheers, WLTS.

THE COMPLETE ARTWORKS FROM DEPARTURE SONGS

Introducing the extended and song artworks for Departure Songs & high quality prints.

You can view them here

Starting with the outer spread of the vinyl artwork, I created a piece of art for each song based on it’s theme and ultimately a complete set that relates to each other and the overall theme that amalgamates at the end with a montage of them all. Each piece has it’s own layered meaning and disguised imagery that is up to the viewer to explore. I wanted to capture the scope of these stories by creating epic landscapes that sometimes feel lonely and foreboding, yet visceral and full of movement.

PRINTS AVAILABLE
Giclée print/museum quality prints (high quality inkjet on uncoated 210gsm stock) of these are available at our Bandcamp - these are set up as a pre-order only at the moment. Depending on the amount of prints ordered, they could take up to 2-3 weeks from order before they are shipped. There will be some available at We Lost The Sea shows but not many. Besides the outside and inside spreads, all posters are A2

With the exception of the outside spread, all of the poster images below are mock ups, but represent closely, what the final product will look like.

Thanks for your support! Matt & WLTS
